Morning by Morning (7/2/23)

My daily gratitude for:

  1. The sacredness of taking everything in, in silence and curiosity for what is beautiful and sacred and good and challenging at the moment.
  2. A great vacation to share with Liz.
  3. Getting to practice Spanish this past week.
  4. Experiencing the street food of Mexico City this week, including tacos al pastor, pollo barbacoa tacos, huaraches, fried quesadillas, churros, licuado, chocolate drinks, sweet tamales, tamales with peppers and huitlacoche, aguachiles, seafood, among other things.
  5. Great tour guides who let me practice Spanish and wer educated but laidback for street food tour (Clarissa), bike tour (Andrew and Andrea), sacred site tour (Enrigue and Armando), and street art tour (Maria).
  6. Liz’s parents care for our home, dogs, and plants while we were gone.
  7. Dawn healing better and coming home today.
  8. Michell Cosgrove, an RN who I met in PICU and had the pleasure of working with- someone with incredible self reflection and openness and love for the vulnerable.
  9. The smiles of street food vendors.
  10. Adam and Carrie, Jon and Alison, and Cambry and Heather.
  11. The sleep and naps the day after returning from a trip.
  12. The feeling of being settled back in.
