My daily gratitude for:
- Ryan’s amazing grades today, and the teaching from Ms Worrell, the hard work of Liz and her mom, and the many others who helped him earn those grades and feel proud of himself.
- Watching parents and grandparents today love their children with everything they have. Amazing.
- Sebastián Tume, one of my favorite doctors in the CICU, as a physician and a leader and a person of integrity, thoroughness, compassion, and wisdom. Loved working with him this week!
- Barbara Jo Achuff, a physician in the CIcu whose tireless heart and gentle conversational ability and dogged determination to do right by her patients and families is stunning and inspiring.
- Will L and David H, kids whose playfulness changed me and my career direction. Happy birthday Will!
- The Hill country of Texas.
- Getting to go home today.
- Having an established and long-standing job and hence having a veteran status.
- Finding Ryan’s goggles!
- The patience of Ryan’s swim teacher.
